Le gambe sotto una tavola e il cuore in una bottiglia

Legs under a table and heart in a bottle

When someone invites you to "put your legs under a table", in our parts, they are inviting you to lunch in that perhaps slightly brusque but definitely friendly way that Emilia-Romagna natives have in their DNA.

This story begins precisely with a lunch, an accepted invitation, a table shared with some Conad members, and a bottle of Anastasi to drink together.

The story of Anastasi is a beautiful one, and so it comes naturally to tell it to them, just as I will now tell it to you.

Anastasi is our desire to "give back": to return a part of what we have been given, of all the good that, over these years, we have received.

It was born at a time of general crisis, the March 2020 pandemic, one of those moments when the temptation to despair and complain is so strong. So strong that it deserves a decisive gesture to reject it.

Thus, challenged by our enologist Attilio Pagli, and his brilliant intuition, Anastasi was born: a Sorbara refermented in the bottle, limited edition, 700 unique pieces of a one-of-a-kind wine: a pure Sorbara cuvée, 50% from the 2017 vintage that rested for two years in a tonneau, and 50% Sorbara 2019.

Immediately, this project also infected our collaborators, suppliers, and customers.

Added to this was the decision of Marta, the daughter of our friends, who wanted to contribute by giving us all her savings, telling us: "You receive more by giving."

At that moment, we decided that all proceeds from the sale of Anastasi would go to the Food Bank, to begin "giving back" as it were.

This is the story we tell our guests.

At first, they are surprised and moved, then they surprise and move us:

"I want 100 bottles," "I'll buy 50 too."

We are speechless for a moment, then honestly, we are moved to tears.

It's a beautiful gesture, perhaps not by chance happening precisely with legs under the table of an Emilia-Romagna lunch.

The Bolognese members decided to transform Anastasi into the best possible gift for their friends and customers, but above all for us and for the Food Bank.

I believe this story had to be told, perhaps because it is a story of table and wine, of Emilia and of beautiful things that happen and warm your heart.

It's a story you can also be a part of, by purchasing your bottle of Anastasi and supporting the Food Bank.

Thanks to our friends from Conad for their choice, and thanks to everyone who has supported the Anastasi project to date.
